Making America Sick
‘Don’t want to go back and do it again? Oops! We’re already on the path.
Consider COVID-19. Days ago, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary RFK Jr. demonstrated that he remains the same old anti-vaxxer we knew when he took a broad swipe at America’s access to vaccines. First, he restricted Novavax’s new COVID-19 vaccine availability to seniors and children with severe health issues.
Think about it this way: The Administration and RFK Jr. prefer that kids and working parents risk being sick with COVID-19 instead of receiving a preventive vaccine. My Central New Jersey Reports.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) had been considering whether COVID-19 vaccines should be recommended for everyone. Now, it appears that all brands of COVID-19 vaccines will be limited. The vaccines are estimated to have saved about 3.2 million lives in the first two years, but clearly, Secy. RFK Jr. doesn’t care.
Kennedy has authority over the FDA, CDC, and the National Institute of Health (NIH). He has prioritized taking a break from research related to infectious diseases.
Think about it this way: Measles, preventive care for women’s health, and significant cuts in feeding programs. The war is on against women and children. I bet you know that consistently hungry kids are more likely to be sick.
PBS reports: House Republicans narrowly passed Trump’s ‘big, beautiful’ bill. Here’s what’s in it
Ah, yes, sick kids. Trump’s BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL forces a parent to go to work as soon as their kid is seven years old so her family can qualify for SNAP — Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program.
Eggs are $5 a dozen—minimum! Tariffs continue to force food prices upwards, and the minimum wage doesn’t stretch even slightly. I wonder if anyone will notice when/if the seven-year-old kids get home safely from school.
HHS Secretary RFK Jr has cancelled many (all?) kinds of research, so forget bird flu, forget new medicines to help with old diseases, forget new ideas and research. This Administration says it isn’t worth the money.
But it’s not only eggs. The BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL is bad, BAD! news for people who make under $50,000. Republicans in the House cut $625 billion from Medicaid. 71 million Americans depend on Medicaid, but never mind that. Republicans also count on the changes to cause 7.6 million people to lose their health insurance altogether.

If you’re 55-64, the new work requirements come after you, too. Do you need SNAP? Maybe you are a grandmother struggling to raise your grandchildren. It’s time for you to go to work, too. Earn your benefits. My Central New Jersey reports.
Facts are facts: Trump has chosen to deliberately drive up prices with tariffs and his BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL.
Trump wants large companies like Walmart and Amazon to take the blame for rising prices, but they are not at the heart of the increases; it’s Trump’s tariffs. Food, clothing, medicine, and hospital services will all be more expensive. Trump’s BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL loves tariffs, and it loves cutting back on health care, too!
Expect more people to become ill because RFK Jr. does not believe in science or health protection. A side benefit for Trump is that restricting vaccines saves the federal government money, which Trump will funnel into the “black hole” of never-ending tax breaks for the Super-Rich.
Forget that getting sick always costs us more; tariffs consistently raise our expenses, and failing to prevent illnesses results in higher costs. Trump and his wealthy associates won’t be the ones paying. Instead, we will.
Please share. All too many people think “politics” is boring, but when politics produces policies that hurt us, they are quick to complain. Trump is doing what he promised. Let’s not let him get away with it anymore.
