Let's Just Say It
Rural America needs Harris and Walz.
This is the first time since 1976 that rural Americans have been able to vote for candidates whose policies prove they genuinely understand rural America.
Vice President Harris’s and Governor Walz’s plan for rural communities aims to support the nearly 50 million rural Americans with the tools and resources they need to prosper.
HARRIS-WALZ PLAN STRENGTHENS THE BACKBONE OF THE RURAL ECONOMY
Vice President Harris and Governor Walz have committed to helping rural communities grow and thrive economically. Their goal is to lower American prices through tax cuts for 100 million working and middle-class families. They offer policies to reduce the cost of housing, groceries, and health care. They also support small businesses by cutting red tape and proposing a ten-fold increase in tax deductions for new businesses.
HARRIS-WALZ PLAN IMPROVES HEALTH CARE WHILE HELPING FAMILIES MANAGE THE CHALLENGES OF KIDS AND SENIORS
Strengthens Rural Health Care by Adding 10,000 Health Care Professionals and Expanding Telemedicine
Cuts the Number of Ambulance Deserts in Half
Keeps Rural Hospitals and Pharmacies Open
Supports the Next Generation of Small- and Mid-sized Farmers and Ranchers
Strengthens the Backbone of the Rural Economy with Investments in Housing, Child Care, and Senior Care.
The lack of these policies has made life particularly difficult for rural Americans and their families. Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz are proving day by day that they understand the needs of rural Americans and are committed to leading a government that serves all the people.
We have a US House of Representatives whose majority does not serve the people. This Republican majority can not pass something as basic as the Farm Bill.
The Farm Bill expired more than a year ago. Republican House Members refused to pass it because they wanted a 20% cut to the funding dedicated to feeding hungry kids and their low-income families. 15.4% of rural families live in poverty, and 11.9% of urban families live in poverty.
It is impossible to understand House Republicans' determination to stop the passage of the Farm Bill. Eighty percent of the bill’s funding focuses on eliminating hunger. If Trump wanted a Farm Bill, he could have influenced the "Go along, Get along" Republicans to pass it. He did not. Trump prefers hungry children. Republicans in Congress should hang their heads in shame.
Perhaps worse than this stalemate is how the House and Senate Republicans buckled under Trump's demand that they refuse to repair the border/immigrant situation. Trump forced Senator James Lankford (R-OK) to drop his carefully crafted bill (full of immigration solutions) that both parties supported, so Republicans changed their votes. Trump wanted to run on the problem.
Trump prefers chaos. He proves that he plans to break our democratic government. He does not want our government to function.
Trump stopped the solution related to border/immigration challenges. Almost daily, he promises to deport 15-20 million people he calls “illegal immigrants.”
Trump’s number is likely wrong. The number may be 11 million; many of them are children. But undocumented or not, how will he do it? Does he call out the American military? Where will he put them? Will he drive them like cattle across the Mexican and Canadian borders? Or will he simply lock them in prisons, lock them in sports stadiums, starve them, and murder them like Hitler did? Will he create an “American Holocaust?”
We must remember that Donald Trump has repeatedly said, “Hitler did some good things.”
Here at MY RURAL AMERICA, we oppose Hitler. We oppose chaos. We oppose hungry kids. We oppose the American military being called out to fight against our people.
We recognize that the Farm Bill plays a significant role in rural economics. We support our immigrant workers who do the back-breaking work in meat-packing plants and dairy farms. We wonder who will care for our elderly in nursing homes and change the bedpans for our sick friends in hospitals.
Trump prefers chaos—chaos in farm markets, chaos at the packing plants and dairy farms where immigrants work, and chaos everywhere. He has promised to impose tariffs on farm commodities and other manufacturing goods again, which will collapse the Midwest farm economy.
At MY RURAL AMERICA, we understand that everything in rural America is more complex than in urban America. The complications related to distance, poverty, news deserts, and corrupted news are rural challenges that have long been ignored. Thanks to the Infrastructure Bill, which Vice President Harris worked hard to pass and that Walz took full advantage of for Minnesota, High-Speed Internet is finally becoming commonplace in rural America, and more investments have been made in rural America.
But now, we have the opportunity to elect people who understand us—Kamala Harris, who grew up middle class and worked her way through college, and Tim Walz, who lost his Dad as a teen, worked on farms as a teen and grew up in a tiny Nebraska town.
Between the two of them, they have crafted policy proposals that we need in rural America. Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have proven they understand how BIG AG/corporate America has hurt the land, slowed competition, and left out too many rural Americans who work daily to feed America and the world.
November 5th is the final day of this election season. The choices are clear. A vote for Trump-Vance is a vote to destroy our country.
A vote for Harris-Walz is a vote that allows us all to have a future.
